I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant yesterday afternoon. My boss recommended it and a couple of the office members had good things to say about the variety of items on the menu. Being a 'foodie' and loving to try new foods/restaurants, how could I refuse?! I had no idea how great it was going to be. I was with a couple of co-workers and none of us had been there before. As you walk up to the front door, it looks like a hole in the wall with very little room, a few tables at best. But once you walk in, BAM! It is a very nice, cozy, and spacious little gem. They have a huge menu with lots of options, including breakfast (which is usually my go to). But since I had never been there, I explored all of my options...until I came across the Greek salad. I almost teared up because the menu said it has beets in it. I have always known Greek salads for having beets on them (some people think it is unheard of, I know). But until Covid came along, a lot of restaurants had beets in their Greek salads. I have not been able to find one that did for quite some time. But more to the point, I ordered the large Greek salad and added the grilled chicken breast. HOLY CRAP!!! It was AMAZING!! Best salad EVER! It was big, lots of everything, and delicious! I have never seen anyone put some many fresh toppings on a salad. And don't get me started on the dressing...homemade and heavenly!! I cannot wait to go back and get another one. If you do not like Greek salads or beets, they have a lot of other items to choose from. But if you are a Greek salad fan and/or love beets, this is a MUST TRY!! You will NOT be disappointed! And the staff is very friendly as well. Keep up the great work!! I will be back! Kudos, Backyard Coney Island!
Backyard Coney Island has great food and fast service. The waitresses are always nice to chat with and service is always good!
This place is amazing the food is good the service is good the woman at the front desk today greeted me by name because she heard my name on the phone call it's just they make you feel really special
Came for late breakfast, eggs toast and hash browns, generous portion of hash browns service was great we were checked on a few times.
Breakfast for champions! Haha. For real...huge breakfast portions and such amazingly low prices its astonishing, really. And no the taste doesn't get impacted by the price being low..they don't skimp on deliciousness and freshness!! Country omelet! All day!
Five stars just for the gluten free pancakes that are almost impossible to find eating out, especially at a coney. The regular pancakes are extremely tasty too. The service was friendly-not especially fast. I did wait for a side of hash browns and toast. The breakfast options were plentiful, and large portion size, good for my fat ass. Not terribly different from Leo's but the Gluten-free pancakes set it apart. Backyard Coney received a best of the west award from Oakland county press, I believe there is a disconnect between the yelp reviews and the BOTW due to demographics by medium, and loyalty of patrons. Yelp- 18-32yrs; Oakland County Press voters 55-70yrs.
